Madden 2009 Demo

July 31, 2008

The demo for Madden NFL 09 is now available on marketplace (1.09GB). The demo features two playable modes, the Madden Test and a single Madden Moment scenario. Madden Test is a drill simulator where you play in various situations. After running the drills on offensive and defensive rushing and passing, the game adapts the difficulty which then fluctuates based on future performance. Madden Moment situation which is a mode that replays classic football scenarios and/or challenges.

*Update
So I got a chance to play the demo last night. It was fun for what it was worth. The test was definitely something new and different. The overall gameplay, I feel like it’s just same franchise repeated over the years with new players and better graphics with more animation. I’m not totally bought on this years Madden. I think I may have too many high expectations.

A Take on Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe

July 28, 2008

Here’s a quick peak on what Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe will look like when it’s release. I have to be honest. The video got me pretty interested. It brings a bit of nostalgia. I grew up play MK and to see where it is today is pretty exciting. I may even pick this up depending on the final list of characters.

Splinter Cell Conviction April 09

July 25, 2008

Yes it’s delayed once again. At least it’s only April right? Splinter Cell Conviction is being delayed until Ubisoft’s next fiscal year. That means April, which is nine months from now. There wasn’t a specification on the delay. Money? Development? Errors? Pride? Who knows…

“One title gamers won’t be seeing anytime soon is the new Splinter Cell. The game had been scheduled for release in Ubisoft’s fourth quarter of fiscal 2008-09, but the publisher shifted its release to “bolster the line-up for fiscal 2009-10.” That means gamers could see it in April 2009 at the earliest.”

New Website Layout

July 23, 2008

So the reason why there’s been some delays on the some of the news/updates is because I’ve been working on a new layout for the site. As you can see it looks pretty different from what the original was. The banner is still in the progress of getting beefed up (possible changes on the globe). We’ll see what happens. Let me know what you all think!

Jade Empire Officially An Original Xbox Title

July 22, 2008

If you remember titled called Jade Empire, either you’ve played the game, or never even heard of it (probably forgot about it). Jade Empire is available in Xbox Originals catalog in XBLM. The price tag is $15 Microsoft points and about 6.2GB, you can experience BioWare’s classic RPG. Honestly, for 6.2GB on my hard drive space and paying $15 for it? I don’t buy it, it’s just not worth it. I’m so sure that this game has a better bargain out there somewhere in an actual store. Am I wrong to say that?

Tomb Raider Underworld Trailer

July 21, 2008

Tomb Raider is probably one of the first action adventure games I played on a PC growing up. A game that actually had substance to it. I still remember back in 1996 thinking that it was an incredible game. Since then there’s been a ton of series not to mention movies. This trailer brings nostalgia in my early years of gaming. Enjoy the trailer.

New Xbox Experience Coming Fall

July 17, 2008

First of all, I wanted to apologize for lack of updates, I’ve been out of town for the past few days. Anyways moving on, coming this fall is a redesigned existing Xbox 360 dashboard. The new dashboard will still allow themes as seen in the image above. “The new download area for content is completely overhauled with the ability to add more information regarding the download for a specific game. Scrolling through each piece of content displays the window of information, reducing the amount of button presses it takes to jump into purchasing or learning more. We’d hope the new design would allow for a full display of gamer pictures, but with the new Avatar system we doubt it’s a focus.”

More pictures after the jump.

In Game Footage Quantum of Solace

July 10, 2008

Quantum of Solace if you haven’t heard is a direct parallel of the movie. It takes place right after Casino Royale and you play the character of James Bond (obviously). Some note worthy mentions are the Call of Duty 4 engine and destructible environments. It’s still some time away before this title is released. We can expect it near the end of this year in November when the movie is released along with this game. As for now, check out a preview of what’s to come and the movie trailer after the jump.
