Ninja Gaiden II Demo Hits Marketplace (Japan)

May 30, 2008

Chris Paladino, from the Xbox Community Team confirmed this morning that Ninja Gaiden II demo hit marketplace today. Of course, I have no way of finding out if it’s actually true considering I’m not from Japan, nor do I know any of the 6 Japanese Xbox 360 gamers. Ninja Gaiden II demo was supposed to be released in May, but considering that the month is about to come to an end and it’s still not here, lets hope for next week! Ninja Gaiden II hits store shelves 6/3/08.

Saints Row 2 Delayed

May 29, 2008

Saints Row 2 was originally planned to be released in August, but due to product quality and marketing considerations, it has been pushed back till October 14. (That’s a whole 2 months!) Colin Sebastian of Lazard Capital markets stated that “We believe the primary motivation for the shift is to enhance and improve the title’s cooperative (co-op) game-play, which is one of the unique features of this game.”  GTA IV’s soon to have downloadable content is also a possibility in the title being pushed back. The first series of the game was enjoyable, I would have to say that multiplayer wasn’t exactly top notch, but the single player did bring some excellent gameplay. Depending on my budget in October, I hope to pick this title up as soon as it launches.

Ubisoft’s Biggest Selling Franchise

May 29, 2008

It could probably be guessed that one of the three titles (Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Prince of Persia) is the likely biggest selling franchise in Ubisoft history. Well, I’m here to tell you that, none of the three are actually the best. It’s that odd? These three titles have been marketed so well throughout the country and you would expect to see them at the top of Ubisoft’s sales. According to GameIndustry, Rayman, yes, Rayman is the best selling title from Ubisoft. Who would have thought that a Rabbit would out perform Sam Fischer? And by the way, Petz, sold more copies than Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry combined!!!

Prince of Persia: Nex Gen Trailer

May 28, 2008

If you were a fan of the Prince of Persia series, expect a new title to come this holiday season. Ubisoft released a new teaser for the game. It will be created for multiple consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC). The trailer doesn’t give too much away, they do tell us that you’ll have a deadly new (hot female) ally. Why is it that video games always represent the females to be strikingly gorgeous. I mean, I’m not complaining about it or anything, but they’re always attractive, have you noticed that? I guess you know what sells these days. Just some food for thought.

Soon To Be Forever Trashed Titles on XBL

May 26, 2008

As you may know, we won’t be expecting a spring update this year and with that said, Microsoft is actually getting rid of many Xbox Live Arcade titles that haven’t been doing so well on the marketplace. It basically means that some titles have been available for six months and hold a 65% or lower average score on Metacritic. It’s the numbers on purchases Microsoft wants to see on the conversation rate in how many users actually buy the game after they download the trial. If the title does not reach a minimum quota, they’re going to be deleted off the marketplace forever. So if there are some Microsoft points laying around iand you want to check out some of the games that will no longer be available, check the list after the jump.

Gears of War 2 Interview With Cliff Bleszinski

May 23, 2008

One of the designers of Gears of War 2 gives us an exclusive look on the multiplayer aspect. CVG managed to get a hold of him to find out what we can expect. Bleszinski stated that It’s the same exact view that you saw. Basically once the guy is grabbed he goes back into the spawn queue, so he’s effectively dead. But you’re still carrying his body around. That’s the way that will work.” What he’s saying here is you’ll be carring an effective meat shield to protect you.
